Public administration is one of the most important segments in each demo-
cratic state. Since the gaining of the independence in 1991, Macedonian public
administration has had a continuous, but incremental and very slow progress
regarding reforms in the sphere of the protection of minority rights, but also,
generally in the area of protection of human rights. Having in mind the fact
that North Macedonia is a multiethnic country, with many minorities listed
in the Preamble of the Macedonian constitution, protection of minority rights
is of huge importance for the sustainability of the peace and improvement
of the democratic processes in the country. The protection of minority rights
also refers to the fulllment of the Copenhagen criteria for the membership
in the European Union, but also for the membership in other international
organizations, associations and entities. The main goal of this paper is to de-
termine and analyze the role of the Macedonian public administration in the
protection of minority rights. In this paper the most frequent scientic meth-
od which will be used is the method of document analysis, combined with
comparative and descriptive method.
