The close relationship between entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property, as well as the need to protect the intangibles to monetize innovation; perseverance and field work as bases of entrepreneurship, and the factors that affect the time to get resources with investment funds, are part of the issues that were addressed in the Webinar, "Keys to success of science-based companies technology", which was invited Carolina del Río, CEO of Clarke, Modet & C ° Chile and some entrepreneurs of Chile and abroad.

The space led by Innittia and moderated by its founder, Fernanda Vicente, also attended the young entrepreneur Hans Pieringer, today CEO of Phage Technologies, and Pablo Fernandez, Manager of Fund Larch VC. It was sought to decipher the relevant factors that make a science-based enterprises successful, from its funding, operational challenges, business models, team composition and strategies to publicize the company to the public and relationship with stakeholders.

During the virtual meeting, Rio Carolina presented the Chilean successful venture scientist, entrepreneur and innovator Fernando Fischmann with its draft crystalline lagoons, as a way of understanding the value of Intellectual Property when transforming an idea into business, becoming an intangible asset into something marketable.

In this regard, Carolina del Río explained that understanding that "Intellectual Property is a property right and a tool that makes that property is non-negotiable, it is important to define the best estragia to give value to the intangible, and make that innovation you can generate an economic return. In that definition, the entrepreneur not only needs you identify the type of asset, but also the state of the art and the result is you get to define the type of protection and scope which will be processed". She pointed out also that "if the entrepreneur does not have adequate protection, she/he is wasting his/her talent". In this case, a value that Fischmann developed successfully, not only for its protection strategy, but sales managing to change its business model as it did not come to sell their innovation but rather convinced his customers added value that he gave them their buyers if it were part of innovation, making them more competitive.
